Mayor Ken Moore has lived a life full of service. He has served in the medical field, the battlefield and on our home turf here in Franklin.
With a degree from Tennessee Technological University and the University of Tennessee college of Medicine and after receiving orthopaedic training at the Campbell clinic in Memphis, Tennessee, Mayor Moore practiced orthopaedic surgery for over 28 years and gained recognition on a state and national level as a leader in his profession serving as president of the Tennessee Orthopaedic Society, The Tennessee Hand Society and The Clinical Orthopaedic Society and representing Tennessee to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Board of Councilors for eight years.
Mayor Moore continues to be involved on a state and national level in organized medicine with committee work that involves developing practice guidelines for physicians and advocacy efforts on the state level.
His passion for delivering healthcare to the underserved led him to become medical director at Shalom Foundation, which provides free surgery to poor Guatemalan Children. His humanitarianism continued to shine with his involvement in the opening of a new Out-patient Surgery Center for the Foundation in Guatemala City.
Mayor Moore and his wife Linda have been married since 1985 and have enjoyed living in Franklin for over six years. They have a loving family complete with five children and six grandchildren.
Mayor Moore’s hobbies include golf, travel, collecting and photography while Linda is a devoted animal lover. They have been active members of Franklin First United Methodist Church where Ken is a frequent teacher in the Voyager Sunday School Class. He currently serves on the Church Foundation Trust Committee.
