Where Are You Called to Lead? I Patrick Holcombe

In this month’s episode, Pastor Jeff sits down with Patrick Holcombe to expand on his section of the Versus ‘Lead’ curriculum, Where Are You Called to Lead? As a successful business owner, Patrick has had the opportunity to lead in his workplace, but he also speaks to being a spiritual leader in all facets of life!

To start us off, Patrick talks to the MLN listeners about spiritual leadership. To be a good spiritual leader, you must first be a good steward of all that God’s given you. Through using resources for kingdom purposes, you are able to serve others well and be a participant in God’s overarching story.

Next, Pastor Jeff and Patrick speak to investing into your own relationship with Christ. If you do not invest in yourself spiritually, it is impossible to be an effective spiritual leader. The more time you spend with the Lord, the more consistent you can be in all walks of life. Our goal is to be the same in all areas of life – at work, at home, at Church, and around friends.

A testimony is the single most powerful thing to impact lives for Christ. By sharing your story, you can impact others for Christ. To do this, you have to create space for conversations surrounding the Gospel. Be real, authentic, and vulnerable to each other, and be consistent! This can be done anywhere – work, with friends, at the gym – so think about how you can lead in your everyday life today!

Finally, keep your eyes open for places to serve within your gifting! One of the best examples of this is at Church – If you’re great with kids, serve in kids ministry! If you have a passion for college students, volunteer to help at a retreat or college night. The opportunities are endless!

Patrick was such an awesome interview that taught us so much about where we are called to lead. We hope you will spend 30 minutes listening to this month’s podcast!
